TROPICAL FRUIT.

  • Avocado   Full sun, moist to well-drained soil, typically around 30' in height, fast growth rate. Varieties include: Brogdon, Haas, and Marcus Pumpkin.
  • Banana   Full sun, moist to we||·drained soil, typically around 8‘ in height, fast growth rate. Plants fruit just once and should be removed to allow the suckers room to mature and supply the following year's crops.
  • Bay leaf   Full sun, moist to well-drained soil, typically around 12' in height, medium growth rate. Culinary herb often used for flavoring. Typically develop flavor several weeks after picking.
  • Carambola   Full sun, moist to well-drained soil, typically around 12' in height, fast growth rate. Fruit has sweet/citrus flavor and produces from August through March.
  • Fig   Partial sun, moist to well-drained soil, typically around 10' in height, medium growth rate. Fruit ripens in the spring and winter.
  • Guava  Full sun, moist to well-drained soil, typically around 15' in height, fast growth rate. Fruit usually pear-shaped and about the size of a baseball. Fruit produced year round.
  • Loquat   Full sun, moist to well-drained soil, typically around 20* in height, medium growth rate. Fruit tastes like a cross between a peach and apricot. Great for jellies and in wines.  Fruit ripens January through April.
  • Lychee   Full sun, moist to well-drained soil, typically around 20' in height, medium growth rate. Flavor much like passion fruit and grapes with a rose—like scent. Fruits ripen late May through July.
  • Macadamia   Nut Full sun, moist to well-drained soil, typically around 20' in height, medium growth rate. Nuts commonly used in baking but can be enjoyed fresh or roasted. About the size of a quarter they are produced from September to December.
  • Mango  Full sun, moist to well-drained soil, typically from 8-20' in height, slow to medium growth rate. Fruit ripens in the summer time. Varieties include: Glenn, Carrie, Haden, Kent, Keitt, Nan Duc Mai, Valencia Pride, to name a few.
  • Pomegranate   Full sun, moist to well-drained soil, typically around 10' in height, fast growth rate. Fruit juice contains high concentration of antioxidants. Typically about the size of a baseball, can be eaten out of hand or juiced for a drink. Fruits year round.
  • Sapote   Full sun, moist to well-drained soil, typically around 20' in height, medium growth rate. Fruit grows more in clusters and resembles a boiled egg yolk. Commonly eaten fresh out of hand and on ice cream. Fruit ripens September through March.
